Where I share all the current events, life events and, fun links that don't necessarily are big enough for a full blog post.
Growing up in a vey political family, I was taught that our most important duty as members of a community is to stay informed because come election season we need to be able to make an informed decision about who we elect into office.

Jeff Sessions Recuses himself on Russia (NY Times)
I love The Smith, it's our go to restaurant whenever we visit NYC. So imagine my excitement when my favorite NYC restaurant decided to open up in DC! I haven't had the chance to pop in yet, but definitely planning my next brunch there. Bitches Who Brunch, my favorite brunch bloggers, however did go and reviewed it. That monkey bread looks ah-mazing.

cherry blossom season
Spring's arrival means one thing for Washingtonians, cherry blossoms! The city fills with tourists and the warmer weather brings back some life after the cold. The Cherry Blossom Festival runs from March 15th thru April 16th. Here are some cheery blossom themed activities happening around the hood.
Women's history month
Wednesday March 8th, was International Women's Day. Women took the say without in the protest 'A Day Without Women' and wore red in solidarity. This protest was to show how valuable women are in society and that women and men need to be paid equally for equal work. There's a long way to go but, I hope we achieve equality soon. The Outrage is an AMAZING popup shop in Adam's Morgan. I wrote a blog post about them prior to The Women's March on Washington (here) and The Washington Post got hip and wrote one too (here). I think I love the shop even more now that I've learned the owner is a scientist!
Springtime is one of my favorite times of the year for sports. DC United and Nationals start their season. Basketball and Hockey are in the end of their regular seasons and heading to playoffs. And not to mention the NCAA tournament. I will be spending so much of my free time watching all these games. Whether is be at the Verizon Center, at a sports bar or, at home.
