Weekend Spotlight

Where I share all the current events, life events and, fun links that don't necessarily are big enough for a full blog post.

Life Lately

Life currently has been pretty full. I think that's the only way I can describe it. From taking three summer classes in a span of two months to working full time at an understaffed hospital to getting over a breakup this summer hasn't exactly been one for the ages. But I'm determined to change that around for the last leg. I just wrapped up my last session of classes last week so I'm hoping for some more free time happening. I haven't had a me day in a while, and I have a gift card for a facial and massage waiting to be used. ;) I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Current Events

Growing up in a vey political family, I was taught that our most important duty as members of a community is to stay informed because come election season we need to be able to make an informed decision about who we elect into office. I know bloggers don't usually share their views but, I want my readers to know who I am. And I want to share the articles I'm reading.

G20 Protests in Hamburg ( New York Times) ... anyone else reminded of those 99% rallies?

Work Leaders Discuss Climate Change Without The US (The New York Times) ...very embarrassed about our president's stance on this

The KKK is pissed Charlottesville is getting rid of Robert E Lee's Statute. (Washington Post) ... personally I'm glad they're getting rid of it

Republicans are large and in charge, yet they can't seem to get rid of Obamacare (LA Times) ... As a healthcare worker Viva La Obamacare

DC Events

I'm making a conscience effort to be more social for the rest of the summer. So I'm saying yes A LOT. Yes to happy hours. Yes to parties. Yes to shopping dates. Yes to some needed socializing with my favorite people.

Foodie Pick

I love trying out new recipes and sharing them with you all! So here's one that's a summer dream. I'm not a huge camper but, I have the fondest memories eating S'mores by the fire pit as it gets dark. I found this s'mores cookie recipe on Pinterest and gave it a try and absolutely loved it! It took me right back to those fire pit nights. ( the girl who ate everything)
