The Perfect Camel Coat

Nothing is more classic of a winter piece than a wool coat. I love how they can instantly clean up your outfit making you look put together. I remember wearing one as a little girl and feel so grown up, because my mother had one almost identical to my own.

I've been searching for quite some time now for the perfect mid length camel coat. Actually I found the perfect mid length camel coat but, it's Burberry and oh so out of my budget. So the hunt for the next perfect mid length was on. And last winter I found it!

God bless Nordstrom Rack, because I picked up a gorgeous and warm camel princess coat by Michael Kors for under a $100. A steal if you ask me! However, despite owning this coat for over a year at this point I wasn't too keen on it until this year. Being petite in frame and height has it's downsides because not everything lines up quite right. But after finding a trusted tailor I had the coat of my dreams.

The cut of this coat is what I love most. I find how it flares out like a dress is most flattering on my frame, giving me some curves and making the coat versatile from day to night. In addition the belt lets me synch the coat to my liking.

I paired the coat for this outfit with a favorite chunky cream sweater, a well worn pair of jeans, some oxford sneakers and, a matching cognac tote. A super casual and versatile look which I can wear running errands or out to lunch or to class.

Since my exact coat is from so long ago, it will be difficult to find it's exact copy, but if you searched in the store, you maybe lucky in their clearance section. But, I've linked a handful of other coats which are very similar to my own, around the $50-$200 price range.
